The cover is separated in 2 Parts “the keyboard-table” and “the Speaker-Box”
What i have used?
- Replacing the Casio CDP-S100 Soundchip with an iPad (Logic Pro or Garageband)
- I know the soundchip is very important. I believe its now very good because i am using logic pro with the ipad Air 4
- Using Casio CDP-S100 (My first Learning Piano 330 €) (No wooden Keyboard)
- because the keyboard is relatively good and keeps up
- Material (Wood)
- First i have Used regular wood from the hardware store. I believe its better to use better wood for soundquality
- Behringer Sounddriver
- My Brother gave me a behringer soundcard from his old eguitar. It works very well
It was also a good way to reuse my old KRK Rokit 8 speakers (which were just in the basement). 2012 the price was 280 € per Speaker i think
It could be that a KRK speaker is too powerful for such a wooden cabinet (especially 2 of them). But I wanted to have the sound on the left and right and balance it later with an equalizer
First I have thought that it would be good to place the speakers directly on the table but then decided to set it upwards
The right audio interface is very important. The worst thing for me is a hissing noise through the aux connection. That would take all the fun out of it for me 😀
I have painted the cover in black with the
I painted the case 3 times to make it look shinier and more elegant, but if I’m honest the paint now looks very thick and a bit rubbery. When it was first painted it still had a natural wood look which seemed more pleasant. Clear four varnish is cool but it has to be done right. I think for my next project I will use already painted and high quality wood.
And this is the acutal Status
I have to say, I had a lot of fun building it and it opened my eyes again along the way. I gained experience with piano sound and at the same time was able to hide the tangled cables and install a camera over it to make cover videos.
Here i will explain you how to make Visual Notes using iPad Apps
Animate the Notes and make a visual piano cover
- Step 1 Connect your Keyboard
- I use Music Space by Casio but usually the ipad will connect without software
- Step 2 Open an Music Software like Logic or Garageband
- I usually use Garageband but I like the new Logic pro for iPad with the Steinway Piano (about 5 € per month)
- Step 3 Open an Recording Software like SeeMusic
- I have used “SeeMusic”. That was the best App i have found
